My name is Maya Ramirez. I am the Assistant Director of the Planoette Varsity Drill Team. I also support English 3 classrooms, and teach Academic Literacy.
A little bit about me: I am a born and raised Texan. I grew up in Colleyville, Texas, and was a part of the Colleyville Heritage Pantera Varsity Drill Team as a Jr. and Sr. Lieutenant while dancing competitively in various styles all around the DFW Metroplex. I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Sciences with the option of Early Childhood Education. This is my sixth year teaching in PISD. I started my journey as a first-grade teacher at McCall Elementary School on the east side. Last year, I decided to make the big jump to high school to combine my two passions: teaching and dance. Outside of school, you might find me walking my dog (Chandler- a mini cockapoo), reading mystery books, or dancing!
