January 12, 2026 - Shuttle Exercise
January 12, 2026
Dear Wildcats,
Tomorrow, we will take an exciting step in preparing for our campus renovation. We will be conducting a practice shuttle exercise between the main Plano Senior High campus and Building H (the current Haggard Middle School site) from about 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. This exercise will help us fine-tune transportation logistics for the upcoming year. You may notice buses running and district staff participating as mock students. This will not disrupt regular classes or activities.
We’re thrilled about the future, and every step we take now is building a lasting legacy for generations to come. Thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm as we move forward toward this wonderful new chapter for our school.
Sincerely,
Kennitra Robertson
Principal
November 9, 2025 - Renovation Update
November 9, 2025
Dear Wildcats,
As you may be aware, exciting changes are underway at Plano Senior High School. This year marks more milestones in our multi-year campus renovation, building on important safety and security upgrades like the recently installed entry-resistant film. Enhancements will continue throughout the campus, supporting learning and student life for Wildcats today and for generations to come.
Recent highlights include the completion of our upgraded baseball and softball complex. Construction began in September 2024 and brought the demolition of the original softball field, followed by the creation of a new field closer to the baseball diamond. Both fields now feature new turf, home-side locker rooms integrated into the dugouts, a modern concession stand, new restrooms and an updated ticket entry. Our student athletes began practicing on the new turf in February 2025, and the dugouts, concession stand, and ticket booth were finished in October 2025. The band practice field was also relocated and opened in time for the new school year in August.
Renovations and additions will continue taking place in phases through 2029, each carefully planned to prioritize student safety and minimize disruptions. As work continues, I want to outline a few key updates about the next major steps in our renovation. We appreciate your partnership and positivity as we step into the next chapter of our campus renovation.
Timeline
(Construction timelines are approximate and may change due to factors like weather or other circumstances. We will provide updates should changes occur.)
- 2025–2026: Construction crews have begun foundational work for the new Athletics addition. The storm shelter, which will house two new gyms, is quickly taking shape, while renovations to Building E’s girls’ locker room are scheduled for completion by the end of this year. Next, work will begin on the boys' locker room area, with the competition gym set for renovation starting in March. All additions and upgrades to the Athletic Building are expected to be finished by October 2026.
- 2026–2027: Building B will undergo renovation. During this phase, students and staff from Building B will temporarily move to Building H, the current Haggard Middle School building, fully prepared for Wildcat use once the new Haggard opens.
- 2026–2028: Building C, which houses dining and kitchen spaces, as well as the library, will be demolished and rebuilt from the ground up. These spaces will be temporarily moved to Building H.
- 2027–2028: Renovation work shifts to Building A. After Building B returns to its upgraded facility, students, staff and programs served in Building A will temporarily relocate to Building H.
- 2028-2029: All students and staff will be back on the fully renovated campus in August 2028. Once students and staff have successfully moved out of Building H, it will be demolished to make room for the construction of a new tennis court complex. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by February 2029.
Support and Logistics
- Focused on Safety: Secure pathways, access controls, fencing and supervision will ensure safety everywhere, including Building H.
- Continuity of Learning: Classes, specialized programs and student activities will continue even as some spaces shift or move. Building H is being prepared to keep students comfortable and secure during this transition.
- Shuttle Service: Dedicated shuttles will connect the main campus and Building H, with bell and master schedules designed to ensure everyone has a safe and smooth transition between sites.
- Communication: Stay updated through our central hub, pshs.pisd.edu/renovation, where you’ll find news, photos, FAQs, timelines and a place to ask questions or leave feedback. All messages shared with families will be archived here.
We understand that change can bring questions, especially about safety and routines. Please know our students are at the heart of every decision. While your school days may look different at times, our leadership team is hard at work ensuring every Wildcat’s learning, friendships and daily activities continue to thrive throughout this project. Our goal is to help you make meaningful memories in both beloved and new spaces.
As Wildcats navigating this transition, we have the rare privilege of being among the last to experience a campus that has served our community for fifty years, while also helping to create new traditions for those who will follow. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!
Thank you for your flexibility, patience and Wildcat pride as we invest in our school’s next chapter.
With gratitude,

May 23, 2025 - Multi-Year Renovation Announced
Dear Plano Senior High Community,
As you are aware, Plano Senior High is preparing for a major, multi-year renovation that will enhance our campus and learning experience for years to come. As we begin this journey, we want to open the door to clear, ongoing communication about the changes ahead and the thoughtful planning already underway.
Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, you will see significant activity on our campus as we launch the first phases of construction. The renovation will occur in carefully planned stages through 2028, with each phase designed to minimize disruption and maintain the high-quality educational experience our students deserve.
Key highlights from the phased plan include:
- Upgrades to athletic facilities, including baseball/softball fields and new band practice areas
- New construction and renovations to classroom buildings and student spaces
- Improvements to safety, accessibility and sustainability across campus
As we move through each phase, there may be times when certain buildings or areas of the campus are unavailable. We are actively developing plans to ensure instruction and all student programs continue safely and effectively during these transitions. While no final decisions have been made about the use of temporary spaces, please know that every option is being carefully considered with student safety and educational quality as our top priorities.
We know that change brings questions and concerns. We are working closely with district leaders, architects, construction professionals and staff to address every aspect of the transition, including:
- Instructional Schedules: Adjusting bell schedules and class locations to ensure students have access to all required courses and programs, including specialized areas like career and technical education, athletics and fine arts.
- Student Experience: Maintaining the “Wildcat experience” and school spirit, even as some classes and activities may temporarily move to new or reconfigured spaces.
- Lunch and Transportation: Planning for meal service and transportation, especially as some students and staff may be learning or teaching in different buildings or locations.
- Safety and Access: Ensuring safe pathways, secure fencing and clear separation of student groups as needed.
- Staff and Family Needs: Addressing parking, attendance and communication so everyone stays informed and supported.
This message is among the many updates you will receive throughout the renovation process. We are committed to:
- Transparency: Sharing what we know, what is still being decided, and how you can stay informed.
- Timely Updates: Providing regular reports, visuals, and FAQs as plans develop and construction progresses.
- Listening: Welcoming your questions and feedback to help us make this transition as smooth as possible.
Next Steps
- We will share more detailed information about the 2025-2026 school year during the weeks and months ahead, including what to expect and how to prepare.
- A dedicated section on our website will soon house renovation updates, timelines and other information.
We are grateful for your partnership and patience as we embark on this exciting new chapter for our Wildcats. Working together, we can ensure that our students, staff and families continue to thrive, now and in the future.
Sincerely,
Kennitra Robertson, Principal
