Renovation Updates
Exciting changes are underway at Plano Senior High School as part of a multi-year campus renovation. This work builds on important safety and security upgrades, such as recently installed entry-resistant film, and will continue to shape learning and student life, benefitting not only current students but the next generation of Wildcats.
Recent highlights include the completion of the upgraded baseball and softball complex. Both fields now feature new turf, home-side locker rooms built into the dugouts, a modern concession stand, new restrooms and an updated ticket entry. The band practice field has also been relocated.
Renovations and additions will continue in carefully planned phases through 2029, each designed with student safety and learning in mind. As work continues, the timeline below outlines key steps for the project.
Project Timeline
Timeline dates are approximate and may change due to weather or construction needs. Any adjustments will be communicated here as we move forward.
-
2025–2026: Foundational work is underway for the new Athletics addition. The storm shelter, designed to hold two new gyms, is taking shape. Renovations to Building E’s girls’ locker room are scheduled for completion by year’s end. Work will then begin on the boys' locker room, with competition gym renovations starting in March. All additions and upgrades to the Athletic Building are expected to finish by October 2026.
-
2026–2027: Building B will be renovated. During this phase, students and staff from Building B will move temporarily to Building H (the current Haggard Middle School, prepared for Wildcat use once the new Haggard opens).
-
2026–2028: Building C, which houses dining, kitchen, and library spaces, will be demolished and rebuilt from the ground up. These functions will temporarily shift to Building H.
-
2027–2028: Building A renovations begin. Once Building B returns to its upgraded space, students, staff, and programs from Building A will temporarily relocate to Building H.
-
2028–2029: All students and staff will return to the fully renovated Plano Senior High campus in August 2028. Following relocation from Building H, that building will be demolished to make way for a new tennis court complex. The project is set to conclude by February 2029.
